Patna, Feb 3 (NationPress) Ayaan Khan, the 18-year-old son of Congress Legislature Party leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan, was discovered deceased in his room at the MLA's official residence located in Gardanibagh, Patna.
Authorities confirmed on Monday that he had seemingly taken his own life.
According to family members, Ayaan had enjoyed dinner on Sunday night before retiring to his room alone. When he failed to wake up by late Monday morning, relatives checked on him and tragically found his body suspended.
At the time of this heartbreaking event, Shakeel Ahmed Khan was out of town.
Upon hearing the news, senior Congress figure Kaukab Qadri and others hurried to the residence.
“The entire Congress family is shattered by this devastating news,” Qadri expressed.
The police have initiated an inquiry, and a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been summoned to gather evidence.
Secretariat DSP validated the occurrence but noted that the motive behind Ayaan’s actions is yet to be determined.

Shakeel Ahmed Khan is anticipated to return to Patna by late evening.
An MLA representing the Kadwa Assembly seat in Katihar district, Shakeel Ahmed Khan is currently leading the Congress’ Legislative Party in the Bihar Assembly.
He also holds the position of national secretary within the All India Congress Committee and previously served as the president of JNUSU.
At 60, Shakeel has been an MLA on a Congress ticket since 2015.
