Chennai, Jan 31 (NationPress) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has sharply criticized the AIADMK for “shamelessly imitating” the welfare and development schemes of the DMK in its election manifesto. During his visit to Sivaganga district on Saturday, Stalin remarked that the opposition party has a history of making unfulfilled promises and lacks the credibility to seek another term.

At a public gathering in Karaikudi, he pointed out that AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami failed to deliver on the commitments made during his time as Chief Minister. “He has not honored his previous promises, and there is no chance he will ascend to the Chief Minister’s office again,” Stalin stated, stressing that merely replicating DMK schemes would not make up for years of inaction.

Stalin raised questions about several high-profile promises made by the AIADMK government, particularly whether the long-awaited Chennai–Kanyakumari coastal road project had been realized.

He also inquired about the fate of various commitments such as distributing mobile phones to ration card holders, providing free Wi-Fi, and establishing Amma two-wheeler repair centers in every panchayat. “The public is fully aware that Palaniswami does not fulfill his promises,” he asserted.

Earlier, Stalin inaugurated the Chettinad Agricultural College and Research Institute at Kanadukathan, a significant initiative aimed at enhancing agricultural education and research in the Chettinad area. He also inaugurated the Government Law College at Kalani Vasal, which was built at a cost of Rs 100.45 crore, thereby improving access to legal education in southern Tamil Nadu.

In addition to these inaugurations, the Chief Minister launched 49 completed development projects worth Rs 2,600 crore and distributed welfare assistance to various beneficiaries.

While addressing the crowd, he highlighted several schemes initiated by the DMK government for the Sivaganga district, emphasizing investments in education, infrastructure, and livelihood support.

Stalin also directed his criticism towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of making false claims against the Tamil Nadu government for electoral advantage. He noted that the Union government has recognized and commended several welfare schemes from Tamil Nadu and their positive outcomes.

Expressing concern over amendments to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, Stalin cautioned that changes introduced by the Centre could drastically reduce rural workers' assured employment to only half of the promised 125 days.

Later on, the Chief Minister launched a Mini TIDEL Park, underscoring the state’s commitment to generating technology-driven job opportunities in smaller towns and districts.
