New Delhi, May 28 (NationPress) A multitude of universities throughout the nation held a significant pledge-taking ceremony on Wednesday, where students expressed their unwavering support for the ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ initiative and committed to the ‘Viksit Bharat’ mission. Prime Minister Narendra Modi frequently emphasizes the nation's ambition for 'Viksit Bharat 2047', highlighting the crucial role of the youth in realizing this vision.

The youth-pledge event, titled 'Yuva Shakti, Bharat Ki Shakti – One Youth, One Nation, One Resolve', was organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) across five regions, uniting students in a spirit of shared patriotism, civic responsibility, and national pride.

Participants widely welcomed the AIU’s initiative, aimed at empowering the nation's youth to serve as the conscience-keepers of Bharat.

Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir, Professor Nilofer Khan, stated, "As a leading institution of higher education, we have educated our students about their responsibilities towards the nation and emphasized the importance of environmental preservation, a key aspect of the pledge."

Prof. Naseer Iqbal from the University of Kashmir added, "Hundreds of students participated in the pledge-taking ceremony. They were instructed on the significance of discipline, honesty, and integrity as they dedicate themselves to the national cause."

“Students were also informed about 'Operation Sindoor', which has garnered global admiration. They should take pride in this and strive for even greater achievements,” he emphasized.

A B.P.Ed student from Physical College in Ganderbal, J&K, expressed that such events should be organized nationwide, encouraging youth participation in similar activities.

At Jamia Hamdard University in Delhi, Vice Chancellor Professor M. Afshar Alam affirmed, "We fully endorse PM Modi’s vision and leadership. As one of the nation’s esteemed universities, we are steadfastly contributing to nation-building.”

Professor Himani Sood, Pro-Chancellor of Chandigarh University, remarked, "'Operation Sindoor' holds special significance for me as a woman, representing every sister, mother, and daughter of India. It fills me with pride that the entire nation supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi and our armed forces in the battle against terrorism and divisive forces targeting Bharat."

Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General of the Association of Indian Universities, noted, "AIU stands as the world’s largest association, comprising nearly 1,100 universities. In India, around 4.5 crore students are enrolled in universities and colleges, and we represent them all. Our pledge is that the nation will always come first."
