Sushil Mochi, Notorious Criminal with Rs 2 Lakh Bounty, Gunned Down in Bihar Encounter

Patna, Jan 4 (NationPress) The infamous criminal Sushil Mochi, who had a bounty of Rs 2 lakh on him, was fatally shot during an encounter with the police in the Tarabari area of Purnea district, Bihar.

Mochi was wanted for multiple charges, including robbery and infractions under the Arms Act. The deadly encounter took place on Friday night as a result of a coordinated operation involving the Special Task Force (STF) and local law enforcement.

Recently released from Purnea Central Jail, Mochi was implicated in criminal activities spanning Jharkhand and Bengal.

Purnea Superintendent of Police (SP) Kartikeya Sharma reported that the police and STF acted on intelligence regarding Mochi's location in Tarabari village.

When law enforcement urged him to surrender, a shootout erupted between the police and Mochi's accomplices. Mochi was killed during the operation while the area was secured by authorities to avert any further violence, Sharma explained.

The Purnea SP remarked, Sushil Mochi was a notorious figure in the region, known for orchestrating crimes in Purnea-Katihar, Kishanganj, Bengal, and beyond. He was wanted in numerous cases.

Despite being incarcerated in Katihar jail, Mochi continued to engage in criminal activities.

He was notably involved in a robbery at the home of Sabir Alam, the leader of Khadi Mahingaon in the Amaur police station area, highlighting his extensive criminal connections.

During the investigation, police apprehended Asad Madni from Amaur and Mochi's spouse Poonam Devi, both of whom were directly linked to the crime. The stolen cash and other valuables were recovered, leading to their subsequent incarceration, Sharma confirmed.
