Amaravati, Sep 9 (NationPress) AICC in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Manickam Tagore has criticized former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party leader Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for his support of the NDA during the Vice-Presidential election, asserting that history will not overlook his “betrayal”.
“By endorsing a candidate backed by the RSS for Vice President, he has prioritized his fear of CBI investigations over the welfare of Andhra Pradesh. This is not merely a tactical move; it reflects a surrender—yielding to the pressures of Modi and Babu rather than aligning with democratic principles,” Tagore expressed on the social media platform 'X'.
“Jagan's actions today will be remembered as the moment he prioritized personal safety over the people's mandate. The people of Andhra deserved bravery, but he chose weakness. When leaders bow to Delhi out of fear, they betray the trust of their constituents. Jagan will be remembered not as a champion, but as a politician who sacrificed his integrity to evade the CBI. His MPs conducted a mock vote and informed us they were instructed by Jagan to support Babu's candidate,” the Congress MP added.
Tagore also commented on the interim bail of YSRCP MP Midhun Reddy in the liquor case. The MP received bail from the ACB court in Vijayawada to allow him to vote in the Vice-Presidential election.
“The TDP/BJP government was so anxious that they filed the liquor case and had him detained. Now, with interim bail, he is momentarily free—not because justice prevailed, but to fulfill his voting duty in the Vice Presidential election,” Tagore stated.
“The real question remains: Will he vote for the TDP/BJP candidate who incarcerated him? Or will he support Justice Sudharsan Reddy, who is dedicated to defending the Constitution?” Tagore remarked.
In another post, Tagore condemned Jagan for “aligning with BJP-RSS in Delhi” instead of standing with the farmers of Andhra Pradesh who are facing a urea shortage. He labeled this a “betrayal” of the farmers of the state.
