Jammu, March 7 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, officially launched the third edition of the Tawi Festival, which is organized by the Hari Tara Charitable Trust (HTCT), at the Amar Mahal Palace in Jammu.

This occasion also celebrated the commencement of the Golden Jubilee festivities marking 50 years of the Amar Mahal Museum and Library.

During his speech, the Lieutenant Governor expressed his congratulations to Dr. Karan Singh and the entire team at the Hari Tara Charitable Trust for hosting this distinctive festival, which unites specialists and practitioners from various domains to exchange and emphasize innovative concepts in art, literature, and history.

LG Sinha acknowledged the significant impact of artists and writers in fostering societal transformation and enhancing global knowledge platforms.

He stated, “Art is a fundamental component in cultivating an enlightened society and nurturing citizens with a value system and creativity. Both Art and Culture are as crucial for a thriving and peaceful world as science and technology. While science and technology have introduced new conveniences and reshaped human existence, modern advancements are incomplete without a rich and dynamic tradition of art and culture. Consequently, I assert that society necessitates the presence of artists and spiritualists alongside scientists.”

The Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed the government's dedication, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance, to adhere to the principle of ‘Vikas Bhi Virasat Bhi’. He further highlighted the crucial role of artists and intellectuals in promoting education rooted in local culture, ethical values, and traditional wisdom.

“The economic advancement of society is driven by art and culture. For enduring development, we require more innovative leaders. Our initiatives to connect the younger generation with our cultural heritage and values must be intensified,” the Lieutenant Governor remarked.
