Patna, June 14 (NationPress) Under fire from the BJP regarding a viral image from Lalu Prasad Yadav’s birthday event—where a portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was purportedly positioned near his feet—RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has robustly defended his father, dismissing the allegations as entirely false and politically driven.
In a statement to the press in Patna following a public event organized by the Pal community, Tejashwi criticized the BJP, accusing it of employing deceit and propaganda for political advantage.
“The BJP is a party of significant deception (Badka Jhutha Party). They are falsely claiming that Lalu Yadav has insulted Dr. Ambedkar. These individuals have no ties to Ambedkar’s ideals, his battle for social justice, or his values,” he asserted.
Tejashwi reminded attendees that during Lalu Yadav’s administration, numerous statues of Dr. Ambedkar were erected throughout the state as a sign of reverence.
“Even at 78, and after a kidney transplant, Lalu Yadav engages with the public for 10 hours daily. Yet, the BJP is shamelessly attempting to tarnish his reputation with unfounded claims,” he added.
The uproar commenced after a viral clip depicted a supporter presenting a portrait of Dr. Ambedkar during Lalu Yadav’s 78th birthday.
BJP leaders, including Ravi Shankar Prasad, Sanjay Jaiswal, Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, and Rajiv Ranjan Singh, accused Lalu Yadav of showing disrespect to the architect of the Constitution by placing the image near his feet.
During an event organized by the Pal community at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, Tejashwi Yadav also pledged to enforce a 100% domicile law if the Mahagathbandhan regains power in Bihar.
“We will introduce a 100% domicile policy that will prioritize residents of Bihar for government jobs. This initiative aims to create more opportunities for local youth,” he declared.
The proposed domicile legislation is anticipated to be a pivotal topic in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections, as political factions strive to solidify support from local communities.
