Patna, Jan 16 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, claimed on Thursday that ‘D.K. Boss’ is the true beneficiary of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Pragati Yatra, which was organized to assess development projects and engage with citizens throughout the state.
However, this initiative has faced backlash from Tejashwi Yadav, who stated, “The so-called ‘D.K. Boss’ is the actual beneficiary of the Pragati Yatra. Nitish Kumar's Pragati Yatra serves as a mere façade for corruption. D.K. Boss is accumulating wealth through this program. I possess evidence of the ‘DK tax’ being enforced, and I will disclose it shortly,” emphasized the Leader of the Opposition.
Tejashwi further criticized the administration for wasting a staggering ₹2.25 billion on the Pragati Yatra, deeming it a misuse of public funds. He referred to it as a Durghati Yatra (a journey of misfortune) rather than a Pragati Yatra (a journey of progress).
He contended that the Pragati Yatra merely provides an opportunity for retired officials and bureaucrats accompanying Nitish Kumar to engage in corruption, asserting that the journey represents “officers’ freedom to loot.”
The opposition leader accused Nitish Kumar of lacking a definitive vision or plan for Bihar’s development while emphasizing the absence of discussions regarding Bihar's demand for special state status during the Pragati Yatra.
“The state has become a Gangaotri of corruption under Nitish Kumar’s leadership,” Yadav stated.
On Thursday, Tejashwi Yadav journeyed to Gaya as part of his Karyakarta Darshan Sah Samwad Yatra (Interaction and Dialogue with Party Workers).
During his visit, he engaged with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) party workers to reinforce grassroots connections and gather insights from the local level.
Tejashwi directly interacted with the party cadre, collecting feedback and discussing their issues. This strategy aims to inspire and mobilize RJD workers in preparation for upcoming political challenges.
