Tejashwi Yadav Critiques Nitish Kumar's Pragati Yatra Plans

Patna, Dec 17 (NationPress) Bihar's Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar concerning his forthcoming Pragati Yatra set to begin on December 23.

Tejashwi Yadav claimed that Nitish Kumar intends to utilize state resources and taxpayers’ funds for the yatra. He further ridiculed the Chief Minister for repeatedly renaming his yatra, describing it as a sign of mental instability and indecision.

In anticipation of the Pragati Yatra, Tejashwi posed a series of questions directed at the Chief Minister.

He inquired about the effectiveness of Nitish Kumar’s previous Samadhan Yatra from 2023, pointing out that numerous public complaints and issues brought up by representatives remain unresolved, despite prior promises.

He criticized the Chief Minister for neglecting public concerns and concentrating more on dialogues with officials, making the yatra appear ineffective in providing direct benefits to the public.

Tejashwi accused Nitish Kumar of squandering millions on travel, refreshments, and promotional efforts in a state struggling with poverty.

He characterized this spending as excessive and a misappropriation of public funds.

The Opposition leader highlighted the failure of the liquor prohibition policy, asserting that alcohol remains easily accessible due to police complicity, rendering prohibition enforcement a mere illusion. He claimed that the upcoming tour was a mechanism to sustain corruption.

Tejashwi Yadav alleged that corruption permeates from the grassroots level and accused the Chief Minister of pursuing the yatra for personal or political advantages.

He stated that Nitish Kumar is disconnected from the realities on the ground, favoring his own convenience over genuine public interaction.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is poised to commence the initial phase of his newly titled Pragati Yatra, scheduled to occur between December 23 and December 28, 2024.

According to the itinerary for the first phase of the Pragati Yatra, Nitish Kumar will arrive in West Champaran (Bettiah) on December 23.
