Patna, Sep 26 (NationPress) Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's transfer of Rs 10,000 each to 75 lakh women in Bihar under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana (Chief Minister’s Women Employment Scheme), RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday accused the ruling NDA government of simply imitating the opposition’s initiatives for political gain.
“The NDA government led by Nitish Kumar is replicating the schemes proposed by the RJD. They have merely taken our Mai-Bahen Maan Yojana and distributed Rs 10,000 to women,” stated Tejashwi, who holds the position of Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly.
“I challenge the Prime Minister to clarify if the Centre has contributed any funds. This is solely the Bihar government’s money. After the initial Rs 10,000 transfer, they will decide whether to continue. They will make a couple of disbursements before the elections and recover the money later. The people of Bihar are not gullible,” he further asserted.
The RJD leader asserted that the cash transfer was executed due to pressure from the opposition and merely serves as a temporary pre-election strategy.
Amid the ongoing controversy involving his sister Rohini Acharya and internal tensions within the RJD, Tejashwi praised Rohini’s significant sacrifices and condemned attempts to tarnish her reputation.
“Rohini has played a vital role in my journey. She donated her kidney to our father. She never sought a party ticket or any position. It is deeply shameful if anyone is trying to tarnish her image,” Tejashwi remarked.
Referring to Rohini as his elder sister who nurtured him, the former deputy chief minister extolled her extraordinary sacrifice.
“It is rare for someone to give a kidney to a family member these days. She made such a sacrifice during tough times,” he noted.
Tejashwi emphasized that Rohini’s foray into politics was not her ambition but a response to public demand.
“The citizens of Chhapra wanted Rohini to step into politics, and Lalu Prasad Yadav heeded their call. Rohini never sought a ticket or attempted to assist anyone else in obtaining one,” he explained.
In a jab at Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Tejashwi alleged that the BJP made derogatory comments.
“After such a significant sacrifice, Samrat Choudhary (during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections) claimed that Lalu Prasad Yadav is granting tickets in exchange for kidneys. Such statements can only be made by BJP members due to their values,” he alleged.
These comments come amid growing tensions within the RJD after Rohini Acharya reportedly expressed dissatisfaction over the Sanjay Yadav controversy, raising speculation about internal discord ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.
