Hyderabad, March 30 (NationPress) The Telangana Assembly has, on Monday, passed a resolution by consensus, calling upon the Central Government to take decisive action to halt the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The resolution emphasizes the grave risk of a third World War if the hostilities between the United States, Israel, and Iran persist, which endangers the very existence of humanity.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka was the proponent of this resolution, which received unanimous approval via a voice vote.

The assembly further expressed concerns about the various manifestations of the war in West Asia, which are destabilizing the global economic landscape.

“It is widely acknowledged that crude oil (including petrol, diesel, and gas) has a profound impact on the economic health of nations. As a result of the ongoing conflict affecting crude oil production and its distribution, there are significant disruptions in supply chains. The U.S. and Israel are actively engaging in military operations against Iran and Lebanon, while Iran retaliates by targeting U.S. military facilities in the Gulf and surrounding regions. These confrontations utilize advanced military technology such as fighter jets, ballistic missiles, and drones, leading to catastrophic destruction and resulting in nearly 4,000 innocent casualties,” the resolution states.

“In addition to the tragic loss of lives, there is a considerable economic fallout. While these casualties may be limited to the regions directly involved, the economic repercussions resonate globally. This situation poses a particular threat to Asian nations, including India, which is already feeling the adverse effects,” the resolution further notes.

“If immediate action is not taken to end this conflict, the future could become exceedingly dire. Without intervention, there is a real possibility of leading to a Third World War, which represents an existential threat to humanity. Given these alarming implications, this House implores the Government of India to take proactive steps to cease hostilities and work towards fostering global peace,” it adds.
