Telangana Chief Minister Appeals to Prime Minister for Approval of Regional Ring Rail in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Jan 6 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, requesting the sanctioning of a Regional Ring Rail akin to the Regional Ring Road for the state.

This appeal was voiced during the virtual inauguration of the new railway terminal at Charlapally in Hyderabad, an event officiated by the Prime Minister.

The Chief Minister highlighted the proposal for a 370-km long Regional Ring Road encircling Hyderabad, noting that the Centre has already initiated the tender process for a 170 km corridor. He urged the Prime Minister to approve the remaining phases of both the Regional Ring Road and the Regional Ring Rail.

He emphasized that these initiatives would transform 60 percent of Telangana into urban regions, thus attracting increased investments.

Stressing the importance of railways in the nation's development, he remarked that a landlocked state like Telangana depends significantly on railway advancements.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister requested the establishment of a dedicated greenfield highway and dedicated rail access to Bandar Port in the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh. He pointed out that Bandar Port is the closest port to Telangana, and enhanced road and rail connectivity could stimulate industrial growth, particularly in the automobile and pharmaceutical sectors.

He noted that Telangana contributes 35 percent of India’s bulk drug production and sought the Centre's support to elevate Telangana into a one trillion dollar economy.

"We are resolute in our goal to elevate Telangana into a one trillion dollar GDP economy. This aim aligns with India’s ambition of reaching a five trillion dollar economy," he declared.

Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for the completion of the new railway terminal at Charlapally, the Chief Minister requested the sanctioning of railway lines from Vikarabad to Krishna, Kalwakurthy to Macharla, and two railway lines from Donrakal.

He also urged the Centre to accelerate the development of the Kazipet integrated coach factory and assist in the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail. The state government has already submitted a proposal to the Centre for the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail.
