Hyderabad, Oct 21 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, made a heartfelt appeal on Tuesday for Maoists to surrender and reintegrate into the national mainstream.

He highlighted that numerous Maoists have recently chosen to lay down their weapons, urging those who remain to follow suit and become part of society. He called upon them to reject violence and engage in the nation’s development and the revitalization of Telangana.

This address was delivered during the Police Flag Day Parade, where tributes were paid to police personnel who have sacrificed their lives in service.

“I am reaching out to all active Maoist leaders and members to surrender to the police and embrace mainstream life. The CM emphasized that Maoists should transform into partners in nation-building and development by abandoning the Naxal ideology,” he stated.

He praised the Telangana Police for their exceptional efforts in eliminating the Naxal threat within the state.

The Chief Minister noted that Telangana has experienced the aftermath of Maoist and terrorist activities historically. The relentless determination exhibited by the state police has resulted in a significant reduction in terrorist and Naxal incidents recently, he remarked.

The CM commended the Telangana Police for being the nation’s leader in adopting innovative technologies and distinctive policies to enhance law enforcement. According to the India Justice Report 2025, the Telangana Police Department has achieved the top rank in the country.

He mentioned that the Telangana Police have set a national benchmark by diligently working to prevent terrorism, extremism, communal issues, white-collar crimes, drug offenses, cybercrimes, and other anti-social activities.

CM Revanth Reddy acknowledged that emerging crimes such as cybercrimes, digital fraud, content manipulation, drug trafficking, and human trafficking pose significant challenges for law enforcement. It is commendable that the Telangana Police are leading other states in combating cybercrimes through advanced technological adaptations.

A 'Cyber Security Bureau' led by a DGP-level officer has already been established to tackle cybercrimes effectively. This department is excelling in its responsibilities and has been recognized as the best in the nation. The CM noted that the Telangana Police have received national acclaim for conducting inter-state operations to apprehend cybercriminals.

He also highlighted the formation of the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), a dedicated unit aimed at completely eradicating the drug problem in Telangana, which is fulfilling its duties effectively. He reiterated the government’s commitment to making Telangana a drug-free region, providing the Police Department with full autonomy and extensive powers.

The Chief Minister reported that this year, 191 police personnel nationwide and six in Telangana sacrificed their lives while on duty.

Greyhounds commandos T. Sandeep, V. Sridhar, and N. Pawan Kalyan lost their lives combating anti-social elements. Assistant Commandant Banothu Jawaharlal and Nalgonda Constable B. Saidu also died while serving. Just three days ago, Constable Empalli Pramod Kumar was killed in the line of duty in Nizamabad.

The Chief Minister assured that the government will support Pramod Kumar’s wife, Praneetha, and their three sons.

He announced an ex gratia payment of Rs one crore, continuance of the last paid salary until retirement for the martyred constable, a government job for a family member, and a 300 yards house site for the family.

Additionally, the constable’s family will receive Rs 16 lakhs as ex gratia from the Police Security Welfare and Rs 8 lakhs from the Police Welfare.
