Among the eight All India Service (AIS) officials serving in Telangana, two IPS officers were sent to Andhra Pradesh after their request for allocation to the Telangana cadre was denied.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) declined a request from five Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and three IPS officers.
These officers were originally allocated to the Andhra Pradesh cadre after the bifurcation of the state in 2014, but they contested this decision and sought allocation to the Telangana cadre.
The Ministry's decision followed a recommendation from a single-member committee led by Deepak Khandekar, IAS (Retd), a former DoPT secretary, which was set up to review the final allocation of IAS officers.
