Telangana State Releases New Guidelines for Rythu Bharosa Scheme

Hyderabad, Jan 12 (NationPress) The Telangana State government announced fresh guidelines for the Rythu Bharosa initiative, which is slated to begin on January 26.
This program will provide farmers with financial support of Rs 12,000 per acre each year.
According to the instructions from the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, financial aid will be granted solely to cultivable lands documented under Bhu Bharati, the newly introduced land revenue system.
Farmers will receive assistance corresponding to the size of their land, while non-cultivable lands will be excluded from this scheme.
Furthermore, the guidelines specify that those farmers recognized under the Recognition of Forest Rights Act will also qualify for investment support.
The government has empowered District Collectors to address grievances related to the rollout of the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
The new guidelines have been issued in the Telugu language.
Funds allocated under this scheme will be transferred directly to farmers' bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The National Informatics Centre (NIC) will serve as the IT partner for implementing the Rythu Bharosa initiative.
This new scheme will take the place of the previous Rythu Bandhu program, which provided Rs 10,000 per acre annually to farmers.
During a recent conference with District Collectors, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy emphasized that there had been significant misappropriation of public funds under the Rythu Bandhu scheme during the previous administration.
He cautioned against repeating such errors, ensuring that all non-agricultural lands are strictly excluded from the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
The Chief Minister clarified that the responsibility for disbursing Rythu Bharosa payments to eligible farmers rests with the Collectors, and he urged them to guarantee that no ineligible individuals receive benefits.
He alleged that the former government had wrongly allocated funds for Rythu Bandhu to various types of lands including real estate, layouts, lands converted into canals, mining lands, warehouse properties, function halls, and lands acquired for diverse projects and developments.
