Telangana to Allocate ₹12,000 per Acre for Farmers Instead of ₹15,000 as Initially Promised

Hyderabad, Jan 4 (NationPress) The Congress administration in Telangana has chosen to offer an annual investment assistance of ₹12,000 per acre to farmers through the Rythu Bharosa initiative, which is lower than the ₹15,000 that was promised during the 2023 Assembly elections.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy declared this decision after a Cabinet meeting on Saturday, stating that the implementation of Rythu Bharosa would commence on January 26.
He mentioned that the choice to provide ₹12,000 per acre was made considering the current financial situation of the state.
Nevertheless, the Chief Minister pointed out that this amount is still ₹2,000 more than what farmers were receiving under the previous government’s Rythu Bandhu scheme.
He emphasized that this initiative is aimed at promoting the well-being of farmers in the New Year.
To transform agriculture into a festive occasion, a significant step has been taken to assist farmers through Rythu Bharosa.
Every farmer involved in agricultural activities will be included under the Rythu Bharosa program.
The investment subsidy will be granted for each acre of cultivable agricultural land without any stipulations.
“Rythu Bharosa will not cover hillocks, roads, industries, or lands developed for real estate purposes,” he reiterated his accusations against the BRS.
Land areas unsuitable for agriculture, including those used for mining, hills, real estate, roads, residential, industrial or commercial use, canal-converted lands, or lands requisitioned by the government for various projects will be excluded from Rythu Bharosa.
The Chief Minister also revealed that the government will provide ₹12,000 annually to landless agricultural laborers under a new scheme named Indiramma Athmeeya Bharosa.
The Cabinet has also resolved to distribute new ration cards to all eligible families starting from January 26.
All three schemes, namely Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Athmeeya Bharosa, and the new ration cards, will roll out from January 26.
Revanth Reddy stated that these initiatives are being launched to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Constitution's adoption.
