It’s important to note that the Election Commission has not yet mapped the voters in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) as well as Khammam and Warangal corporations, since their terms will conclude later.
The tenure of GHMC concludes in February, and the terms for Khammam and Warangal corporations are due to end in April.
Recently, State Election Commissioner Rani Kumudini convened a meeting with representatives from recognized political parties to discuss preparations for the upcoming municipal polls.
Notification for the elections will be released post the reservation decisions for various segments. Reservations for wards and divisions in the municipalities and corporations will be determined based on population metrics.
Given the significance of the reservation issue, officials are prioritizing this aspect ahead of the notification release.
A list of polling stations along with photo electoral rolls will be made public on January 16 at the offices of Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, DEAs, RDO, and Tahsildars.
