Mumbai, Nov 22 (NationPress) Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena UBT President Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday condemned the BJP and RSS for disseminating the poison of language.
“What actions are the BJP members taking? They are inciting linguistic regionalism (bhashik praantvaad). We do not advocate violence over language,” he remarked.
This statement was made during the welcoming of a former BJP member into the Shiv Sena UBT. Yogendra Bhoir, the Vice President of the BJP Yuva Morcha in Dombivli, along with his wife, Twinkle Bhoir, joined the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) at his residence, Matoshree, on Saturday.
In reference to a recent remark by a legislator from the Shinde faction, who suggested that it's acceptable if the mother (Marathi language) perishes, as long as the aunt (Hindi language) survives, he questioned, “What can be expected from such individuals?”
He also mentioned, “Recently, Bhaiyya Joshi from the RSS stated in Ghatkopar that the mother tongue is Gujarati. This indicates that the BJP and RSS are the ones spreading this poison while blaming others.”
Thackeray expressed sorrow over a tragic incident involving a 19-year-old college student from Kalyan who reportedly took his life after enduring severe mental distress following a dispute over his preference for Hindi over Marathi.
“A tragic event occurred recently that should never have happened. We do not support violence over language,” he added.
He noted that with the ongoing local body elections and impending crucial Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections, many individuals are returning to Shiv Sena UBT.
“In essence, people are gradually recognizing the hypocrisy of the BJP and the traitors (Shinde faction). However, this struggle will not be easy. Therefore, you (workers) must remain vigilant and observant. The Bharatiya Janata Party is known for its scheming and plotting,” he alleged.
Thackeray intensified his criticism of the BJP, stating, “The BJP's Hindutva bubble has burst. The sadhu murder in Palghar was a regrettable event. No one endorses that incident. When it occurred, the BJP welcomed the very individual they had previously accused into their party.”
“The BJP believed that by bringing him into their fold, they could conceal their guilt. However, this wrongdoing was exposed. Following this, the BJP hastily attempted to halt his party entry, revealing their hypocrisy regarding Hindutva,” he concluded.
