New Delhi, March 28 (NationPress) BJP leader Anurag Thakur commended the government's announcement of a public holiday on April 14th to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the visionary behind India’s Constitution. Thakur highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's significant decision, emphasizing that it showcases his profound respect for Dr. Ambedkar’s essential contributions to the nation.

He posted on X, "A public holiday has been declared in honor of the birth anniversary of the Constitution's architect and champion of social equality, Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. This decision aligns with Prime Minister @narendramodi's vision, reflecting genuine reverence and unmatched respect for Babasaheb Ambedkar."

Union Minister of Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also praised the initiative to declare a holiday on April 14.

In a message on X, Shekhawat stated, “There will now be a public holiday on the birth anniversary of our Baba Saheb Pujya Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar ji, the architect of the Constitution who ushered in a new era of equality in society.”

“The honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, a dedicated follower of Baba Saheb, has acknowledged the sentiments of the nation through this decision,” he added.

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions has confirmed the holiday declaration, which will be recognized across all Central Government offices and industrial establishments nationwide. The holiday will apply to:

Industrial Establishments: All industrial establishments under Central Government control will remain closed.

Autonomous Bodies: Autonomous bodies, attached offices, and subordinate offices will also observe the holiday.

Central Government Welfare Committees: Committees and staff sides (JCM) will close for the day.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has also been notified, and banks may be closed on April 14th, depending on state-specific directives.

This holiday is part of the government’s initiative to honor Dr. Ambedkar’s remarkable contributions to the nation and its Constitution.
