Bhopal, Feb 25 (NationPress) Three Kumbh pilgrims lost their lives and seven others suffered serious injuries in a devastating incident in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa when a car allegedly collided with a parked trailer.

This unfortunate event transpired on Monday evening. As per police reports, the crash occurred close to Purvanchal Dhaba (a local eatery), near Marhi village within the Mangawan police jurisdiction.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the precise reason behind the accident; however, sources suggest that it took place between 10 and 10:30 p.m. It appears that the driver may have fallen asleep, resulting in the vehicle crashing into a stationary trailer.

Reports indicate that the victims were on their way back from the Kumbh Mela in Praygraj, Uttar Pradesh, traveling in a vehicle they had rented from Narmadapuram (formerly Hoshangabad), which is located about 72 kilometers from Bhopal.

Upon receiving the alert, local police and residents rushed to the scene to rescue the injured and facilitated their transport to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa.

The deceased have been identified as Champalal Yaduwanshi, Prateek Yaduwanshi, and Tularam Yaduwanshi—all of whom are relatives, according to police sources.

The bodies have been sent for autopsy, and investigations are currently in progress to ascertain the cause of the accident.

In a separate incident, one individual lost their life, and 12 others were severely injured when a bus veered off into a gorge near Bhanwarsen Moora in the Naikin police station area of Sidhi district.

The bus, which was carrying a wedding party from Rewa, lost control and plunged into a deep pit, leading to one death at the scene and serious injuries to more than a dozen passengers.

This incident occurred between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Monday when the bus driver lost control.

Naikin police, along with local residents, helped to rescue the injured and transported them to the hospital for treatment. Reports indicate that some of the injured passengers are in critical condition. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding this accident.
