The Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan shared a message on the social media platform 'X', stating: "Sending heartfelt greetings to everyone on the significant occasions of Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Bhogali Bihu, and Uttarayan! These festivals symbolize the harvest season and reflect our profound appreciation for Mother Earth. In his message on 'X', CM Stalin shared: "Wishing a joyous Tamil New Year to all our dedicated farmers who tirelessly work to feed the world, as well as our Tamil brothers and sisters residing worldwide! May the spirits of Tamils be filled with joy like the brightness of the morning sun! May joy flow abundantly in life like the richness of a new Pongal."
Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), General Secretary of AIADMK and Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly, expressed his thoughts on social media, stating: "On the joyous occasion of Pongal, celebrated with enthusiasm by Tamils globally, I pray to the Almighty for everyone to lead lives filled with good health, prosperity, fame, and wealth. Following the noble example of the revolutionary leaders MGR and Amma, I joyfully extend my Pongal wishes to all."
Tamil cinema icon and founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), Vijay, also shared his greetings on 'X'.
He remarked, "The Pongal festival! A celebration of unmatched joy for farmers, revered and honored globally. It is a festival of gratitude, where cattle are celebrated. A festival of bravery, where bulls courageously enter the fields," he stated.
