Chennai, July 10 (NationPress) In a significant move to improve the experience of pilgrims, the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR and CE) Department of Tamil Nadu will soon implement a "break" darshan system at three prominent temples - Palani Murugan Temple, Tiruchendur Murugan Temple, and Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai.
This initiative, inspired by the effective system at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, aims to minimize waiting times for darshan and enhance crowd management.
Devotees will be able to reserve their darshan slots online in advance by choosing a specific date and time. This approach not only helps to bypass lengthy queues but also guarantees a more pleasant and convenient visit by offering quicker access to the sanctum sanctorum through dedicated entry points.
As per HR and CE officials, individuals opting for the "break" darshan will also enjoy additional perks. These encompass a special offering of prasadam, the opportunity to participate in aarti, and sacred theertham from the temple.
At the Palani Murugan Temple, a fee of Rs 300 has been established for the special darshan. Devotees who select this service will receive a devotional package containing the renowned Panchamirtham, a coconut, fruits, sacred ash (vibhuti), and a traditional yellow cloth bag (manjappai), which holds cultural significance in Tamil devotional practices.
The officials have confirmed that this system will be rolled out soon at other notable temples throughout the state.
Srirangam Ranganathaswamy Temple and Samayapuram Mariamman Temple have been pinpointed as the next sites for this enhanced darshan service.
Temple management believes that this new system will not only elevate the overall devotional experience for pilgrims but also facilitate better crowd control, particularly during peak seasons and festivals. With an increase in visitors to major shrines across Tamil Nadu, the "break" darshan initiative is anticipated to modernize temple administration while preserving traditional sanctity and rituals.
