A group of eleven young people aged between 12 and 19 had visited the river for bathing near Kamini Lanka in Mummidivaram mandal.
While three youths managed to escape, the others were pulled away by the current.
Out of the group, four youths were from Kakinada district while the remaining four belonged to Konaseema district.
Personnel from the SDRF, police, Revenue, and Fisheries departments, alongside local fishermen and experienced swimmers, are actively participating in the search operation.
Eight boats, including three from the SDRF, and six drones have been deployed, under the supervision of Konaseema district Collector R. Mahesh Kumar and Superintendent of Police Krishna Rao.
The youths had attended a wedding in the family of a friend in Seri Lanka in K. Gangavaram mandal. After having lunch, they decided to take a dip in the river.
