Kolkata, Oct 4 (NationPress) In a devastating incident, four individuals lost their lives and three others sustained injuries when a car veered off the road and plunged into a 50-foot-deep ditch near Kalimpong in north Bengal, as reported by police on Saturday.
Authorities stated that the tragic event occurred last night. The vehicle was en route from Patharjhora to Gangtok in Sikkim when it fell into the gorge in the Melli Kirani region along National Highway 10, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Kalimpong police station.
The victims have been identified as the driver, Kamal Subba (44), and three others: Sameera Subba, a woman in her 20s, along with two residents of Bojojhari, Januka Dorji and Neeta Gurung.
Reports indicate that three additional individuals were seriously injured: Sunita Thapa, Sandriya Rai, and Samiul Dorji. All are currently receiving medical treatment at Melli Sikkim Hospital.
