Tragic Incident: Three Teens Fatally Struck by Train in West Champaran, Bihar

Patna, Jan 3 (NationPress) In a tragic event, three young individuals lost their lives after being hit by a train while deeply engaged in playing the mobile game (PUBG) in Bihar's West Champaran district on Thursday, police reported.
The incident took place close to the Royal School at Mansa Tola on the Narkatiaganj-Muzaffarpur railway section under the jurisdiction of the Mufassil police station.
All three teenagers, wearing earphones, were so immersed in their game that they did not notice the oncoming train. This unfortunate distraction resulted in the accident, leaving the local community in a state of shock.
Authorities have begun an investigation to ascertain the precise circumstances leading to this incident.
The victims have been identified as Furkan Alam from Railway Gumti, Mansha Tola; Sameer Alam from Bari Tola; and Habibullah Ansari.
In the aftermath of the accident, hundreds of community members gathered at the site, expressing their grief. The families of the deceased have taken their children’s bodies for burial rituals.
Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Vivek Deep, along with the Railway Police, arrived at the scene to probe the accident's circumstances.
The teenagers' gaming distraction and the surrounding conditions are currently under review.
“We are coordinating to retrieve the deceased for post-mortem examinations and are also attempting to collect statements from the families to establish the actual circumstances of the incident. Initial findings indicate that they were playing games on their mobile phones while seated on the railway tracks,” stated SDPO Vivek Deep.
This event has plunged the local community into profound mourning.
Furthermore, it has sparked concerns regarding the risks associated with playing mobile games in hazardous locations, particularly on railway tracks.
Authorities are urging parents to supervise their children’s gaming habits and to educate them about the necessity of remaining alert in public places to avert such tragedies in the future.
