Patna, Sept 19 (NationPress) A devastating incident unfolded close to Pandarak railway station in the Barh subdivision of Patna district on Friday, when the Vande Bharat Express train collided with four family members.
Reports indicate that the mishap occurred around 5 p.m. in Mekra Mamrakha village.
The victims hailed from Tadapar village, located under the jurisdiction of Harnaut police station in Nalanda district, and were en route to a Tilak ceremony.
The deceased have been named as Jitu Manjhi (24), son of Ravindra Manjhi, Nago Manjhi (25), son of Jawahar Manjhi, and Reetlal Manjhi (60), son of the late Saudagar Manjhi.
All three perished instantly upon being struck while attempting to cross the tracks, likely underestimating the speed of the train.
A fourth individual, Jaglal Manjhi (50), also a son of the late Saudagar Manjhi, sustained severe injuries, with limbs lost in the collision.
He was transported to a nearby medical facility and later referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), where his condition is reported as critical.
