New Delhi, Feb 11 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday honored Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his death anniversary, hailing him as a guiding light for every generation in the nation.

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya (1916-1968), a notable political thinker, economist, and leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, is celebrated for his philosophy of Integral Humanism (Ekatma Manav Darshan).

His vision emphasized development anchored in India’s cultural values, promoting a balance between the individual, society, and nature, rather than merely concentrating on material growth. Upadhyaya led the Jana Sangh until his premature death in 1968.

In a post on X, PM Modi expressed, "To the unparalleled devotee of the Motherland, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya ji, respectful homage on his sacred death anniversary."

"His principles and thoughts, grounded in values, will persist as a guiding light for every generation of the country," he further stated.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, paying tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, referred to him as the "pioneer of Antyodaya and integral humanism" and a "great national thinker."

He noted, "The progress of the person at the last row indicates the nation's overall development -- the thinker who introduced this idea, Deendayal Ji, will remain an eternal source of inspiration for nation-building for countless generations."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also took to X to honor the "selfless Karmayogi and great thinker," Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.

"Through his 'Ekatma Manav Darshan' (Integral Humanism), the mantra of 'Antyodaya' he provided -- to extend development to the last person in society -- continues to form the basis for constructing a Viksit Bharat. His ideals of national service and total dedication will perpetually guide our journey," Singh remarked.

Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi Adityanath took to social media to pay respects to the founder member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.

He stated, "The essence of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' in the double-engine government reflects his very thought and philosophy. Inspired by the ideals of revered Pandit ji, the state government is wholly dedicated to uplifting villages, the impoverished, farmers, women, and those at the lowest rung of society," CM Yogi posted on X.
