Agartala, Sep 25 (NationPress) Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha remarked on Thursday that his administration is guided by the vision and aspirations of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.
While addressing an audience at a gathering commemorating the birth anniversary of Upadhyay, the Chief Minister noted that he was a dedicated politician and patriot who prioritized the culture, tradition, and advancement of the Indian populace.
CM Saha emphasized that both the nation and the state are progressing in line with Upadhyay's directives.
According to him, Upadhyay advocated for integrity as a fundamental principle in public life and governance.
Reflecting on Upadhyay's legacy, the Chief Minister described him as a remarkable son of Mother India and the founder of Integral Humanism.
In a heartfelt social media tribute, CM Saha stated: “I paid my respects to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji, a founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and a champion of Integral Humanism, on his birth anniversary.”
“His lifetime was dedicated to national service, organization, and the safeguarding of Indian heritage. His vision of Antyodaya will continue to motivate us to support the most disadvantaged and strive for an inclusive society,” Saha added.
The event was organized by the Information and Culture Affairs (ICA) Department of the Tripura government at the Muktadhara Auditorium.
CM Saha further stated that Tripura, as the fourth smallest state among the eight Northeastern states, has achieved the second position in terms of per capita income and GSDP.
He highlighted that in 2023-24, Tripura's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) surged by 14.21%, placing it second among the Northeastern states.
He pointed out that the GSDP and per capita income are closely linked to rural economic advancement, emphasizing the government's commitment to this cause. “We must foster comprehensive development in villages. Since the Modi-led government assumed office, our focus has been on rural development, covering essential areas like drinking water, education, and health,” he stated.
“Through collective efforts, we aspire to create an 'Atmanirbhar Tripura' and empower every citizen towards self-reliance. With innovation, India is poised to shine on the global stage in sectors like artificial intelligence, space exploration, biotechnology, and renewable energy,” CM Saha declared.
Present at the event were Rajya Sabha Member Rajib Bhattacharya, ICA Department Secretary Pradeep Kumar Chakraborty, State-level Cultural Advisory Committee Vice Chairman Subrata Chakraborty, ICA Department Director Bimbisar Bhattacharya, along with other dignitaries.
