Agartala, Jan 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, emphasized on Wednesday that complacency is unwarranted despite the state achieving national recognition across various sectors. He highlighted the necessity for the timely completion of all infrastructure and development initiatives.
Diving into the details during a high-level meeting at the Civil Secretariat, Saha mentioned that Tripura has secured top ranks in numerous sectors and has been honored for its successful execution of development projects.
He stressed the importance of setting clear objectives, insisting that all infrastructure projects must be finalized within the established timeframes, avoiding any delays.
Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a self-reliant India, Saha noted that infrastructure advancement is pivotal in achieving this ambition, urging that all projects in the state adhere to defined timelines.
The Chief Minister also advocated for increased participation from expatriates in the state's developmental agenda, asserting that this would stimulate investments, especially in the industrial domain.
During the assembly, Saha assessed the progress of development projects across various departments and provided essential directives to ensure their prompt execution.
He reiterated that the current BJP-led government prioritizes infrastructure development, significantly boosting budget allocations to expedite the state's growth and create a 'New Tripura.'
In terms of fiscal commitment, Saha revealed that the state budget soared from approximately Rs 27,000 crore in the previous financial year (2024–25) to Rs 32,000 crore in the 2025–26 financial year, with a major portion dedicated to infrastructure development.
Key officials in attendance included Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Finance Secretary Apurba Roy, PWD Secretary Kiran Gitte, Urban Development Secretary Abhishek Singh, Education Secretary Raval Hemendra Kumar, and others who briefed the Chief Minister on their respective projects.
