Agartala, Jan 1 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, called on students to merge academic knowledge with contemporary technology and spirituality to create a promising and significant future, highlighting that education should be based on ethical values and practical application.

While inaugurating the Golden Jubilee Year Celebration Festival of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) at Nazrul Kalakshetra, the Chief Minister emphasized that students should complement their textbook education with modern technology to acquire hands-on experience and essential life skills.

“To ensure a successful future, one must engage in genuine education alongside moral integrity. Education empowers individuals to carve out a unique identity within society,” stated Saha, adding that dedicating time to spiritual pursuits aids students in maintaining mental tranquility and concentration.

Referring to the National Education Policy (NEP), he noted its introduction was prompted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to modernize the country's educational framework and make it more student-oriented.

“Educated youth are among the most prized resources globally. The integration of technology into education is vital, and the Prime Minister’s vision is to position India as a leading global educational hub. The state government is actively implementing numerous initiatives to ensure timely and quality education,” remarked Saha, who is also responsible for the Elementary and Secondary Education sectors.

Reflecting on the TBSE's history, the Chief Minister noted its establishment in 1976, marking its golden jubilee this year.

He stressed the importance of seeking counsel from former officials and staff to fortify the board further. Saha mentioned that since the NEP's implementation, there has been a noticeable improvement in students' performance in TBSE examinations. He urged the board to take proactive measures to enhance academic results.

Among the key initiatives introduced by the state government, Saha highlighted programs like Nipun Tripura, Mission Mukul, and the Vidya Setu Module aimed at reinforcing the education system. Bicycles are being distributed to girl students, and the Super 30 project has been initiated to assist aspiring students in higher education. Additionally, teachers are being regularly trained, with approximately 7,700 educators trained thus far.

The Chief Minister announced the introduction of smart classrooms in all schools to enhance learning outcomes, alongside the opening of new hostels for students from tribal communities. A total of 47 hostels have been constructed under various schemes, including PM Janman.

He also declared the state's ambition to establish one Eklavya Model Residential School in each of the 58 blocks of Tripura. Saha added that the government is expanding higher education facilities, including new colleges, universities, and technical institutions.

During the event, 23 exceptional students were honored for their exemplary performance in the secondary and higher secondary examinations from 2022 to 2025.

The Chief Minister presented certificates to the winners and unveiled a commemorative souvenir celebrating the golden jubilee of the TBSE.

Among those attending the event were Education Department Secretary Ravel Hemendra Kumar, Maharaj Swami Bhaktisudhananda of Viveknagar Ramakrishna Math, TBSE President Dhananjay Ganachowdhury, and Board Secretary Joydeep Bhattacharya.
