Previously, TGB Chairman Satyendra Singh remarked that the Bank has positioned itself as a leader in executing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship welfare programs, ensuring transparent, swift, and dignified delivery of benefits at the grassroots level. He emphasized that the Bank is not just commemorating five decades as a financial institution but celebrating 50 years of partnership with the people of Tripura and the state government in fostering a more inclusive, resilient, and empowered economy.
Highlighting key initiatives, Singh noted that through the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, the Bank has integrated thousands of unbanked households into the formal financial system.
“Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), we have guaranteed timely delivery of government benefits, reinforcing public trust and preventing leakages,” he stated.
The Chairman also pointed out that the Bank's extensive work under various schemes, including the Kisan Credit Card, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Atal Pension Yojana, has significantly improved social and financial security for farmers, workers, and other marginalized groups.
Stressing the Bank's involvement in implementing Tripura government initiatives, Singh affirmed that Tripura Gramin Bank continues to actively promote rural livelihoods, women's empowerment, and youth entrepreneurship across the state.
