Jaipur, March 21 (NationPress) In a devastating incident, the driver of a truck was burned alive in a head-on collision with two tankers on Friday in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district.
The crash took place around 6:30 a.m. at the Ladpura intersection within the Mandalgarh police jurisdiction.
Reports indicate that a speeding truck collided with two tankers, leading to a massive fire that obliterated all three vehicles.
The truck was transporting ash from Chittorgarh and crashed into a cement tanker (blocker) and an empty diesel tanker.
The force of the impact caused the truck’s gate to become jammed, trapping the driver inside. He was unable to escape the sudden inferno and tragically perished in the flames.
Although bystanders attempted to assist, the rapid spread of flames hindered their efforts. The fire quickly consumed all three vehicles.
Post-accident, significant traffic congestion was reported on the highway. Authorities arrived on the scene to manage the situation.
Probationer IPS officer Jatin Jain, overseeing the Mandalgarh police station, noted that due to a previous accident in Chittorgarh, traffic had been diverted toward Ladpura, exacerbating congestion at the intersection.
In the midst of this heavy traffic, an out-of-control truck, traveling at high speed, crashed into the two tankers. Eyewitnesses recounted that the truck driver applied sudden brakes, igniting a fire in the tyres. The flames swiftly spread to the other vehicles, creating a fierce blaze.
The truck driver, identified as Shambhulal Dhakad (45) from Phoolji Kheda village, was unable to escape and lost his life in the fire.
Fire brigade teams and police personnel fought the inferno for over an hour before finally bringing it under control.
The charred vehicles were subsequently cleared away, and normal traffic resumed.
The remains of the deceased driver have been placed in the Mandalgarh Hospital’s mortuary, pending a post-mortem examination after his family arrives.
Authorities are looking into the accident's cause, while police have advised drivers to adhere to safe speed limits to avert such tragedies.
