It is claimed that after consuming alcohol, they gang-raped the girl and threatened her to ensure her silence regarding the incident.
The victim, traumatized by the experience, fell ill after returning home and disclosed the complete ordeal to her family a day later.
Following this revelation, the minor's family filed a formal complaint at the Patuli police station, prompting an investigation. The two suspects fled shortly after the incident, but following a thorough search, they were ultimately apprehended.
"The arrests were made yesterday based on the complaint submitted by the minor's family. A case has already been registered against them, and they are currently undergoing interrogation. The investigation is ongoing," stated a senior officer from the Kolkata Police.
Investigators are also determining whether additional individuals were involved in this heinous crime.
