New Delhi/Gwalior, March 12 (NationPress) - Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced on Thursday that important measures have been taken to enhance railway connectivity for residents in Madhya Pradesh’s Ashoknagar and Kolaras.

The Minister revealed that the Union Railway Ministry has sanctioned the stoppage of the Sogaria-Danapur Express at Ashoknagar and the Ujjaini Express at Kolaras, both of which are situated in the Guna Lok Sabha constituency, represented by BJP MP and Union Minister Scindia.

He emphasized that these stoppages will significantly improve connectivity for passengers traveling to various regions across the country.

"This vital step will enhance travel accessibility and convenience for passengers in the area. It will benefit daily commuters, students, and businesspeople, while also invigorating regional transportation and economic activities," stated Union Minister Scindia.

The approval was based on a request made by Scindia in a letter to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on February 26, 2026, advocating for the addition of these train stoppages in Ashoknagar and Kolaras.

Swift action on this request led to the Union Railway Ministry's endorsement of both stoppages, ensuring better railway access for local residents as of Thursday.

Expressing appreciation for this significant development, Scindia thanked Union Minister Vaishnaw, underscoring the BJP government's commitment to public convenience, with all ministries collaborating towards this goal.

"Now, the citizens of Ashoknagar and Kolaras can enjoy easier connectivity. I am deeply grateful to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for this gift to the people of Ashoknagar and Kolaras. This decision will greatly benefit travelers in the area," Scindia shared on the social media platform X.

Additionally, Scindia is set to commence a four-day visit to Gwalior and Guna starting Thursday, during which he will participate in various events and engage with the local populace.
