Union Communications Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday, 16 July directed party functionaries to overhaul the design of the under-construction BJP district office in Ashoknagar, calling for a more modern, spacious, and future-oriented facility capable of serving the organisation for decades to come.

What Scindia Said at the Site

Reviewing construction progress on the second day of his Ashoknagar visit, Scindia stressed that the office must be built with future generations of party workers in mind. 'The office should be modern, functional and capable of serving the organisation effectively for years to come,' he said, urging those overseeing the project to prioritise open spaces that workers, elected representatives, and members of the public can use comfortably.

Scindia, who represents the Guna constituency in the Lok Sabha, inspected the construction site and reviewed the proposed layout alongside BJP Ashoknagar district president Alok Tiwari, district office-bearers, and other party functionaries.

Key Additions Proposed

District BJP leaders briefed Scindia on planned facilities, which include separate rooms for various party morchas, a lawn, a stage for organisational programmes and public meetings, a dedicated VIP entrance, and other amenities. While broadly appreciating the blueprint, Scindia pushed for greater open-space allocation to make the campus more accessible and convenient for all stakeholders.

Directive on Quality and Timelines

Scindia directed the project's executing team to complete construction within the stipulated timeframe without compromising on quality. He emphasised that the office should function not merely as the party's district headquarters but as a vibrant centre for organisational activity and public outreach.

Broader Context: BJP's Organisational Push in Madhya Pradesh

The Ashoknagar visit is part of a wider effort by the BJP to strengthen its organisational infrastructure across Madhya Pradesh. The two-day tour also saw Scindia review ongoing development works and engage with local party leaders and elected representatives. Notably, investments in physical party infrastructure have historically been used by the BJP to signal long-term commitment to a constituency — particularly in regions where the party is consolidating its presence ahead of future electoral cycles.

With the redesigned office expected to serve as a regional organisational hub, the project's completion timeline and final design will be closely watched by local party units.
