Gwalior, Feb 4 (NationPress) During his visit to Madhya Pradesh's Ashoknagar district, Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia engaged with farmers affected by the recent hailstorm, ensuring them of comprehensive support from the state government.
The Union Minister assessed the damage in the Nalkheda region of Ashoknagar, which is part of the Guna Lok Sabha constituency. He heard firsthand from farmers about the destruction of their crops.
Scindia expressed that the state government stands in solidarity with the farmers during this challenging period and will not abandon them in their time of need.
Accompanied by local BJP members and officials from the revenue department, he directed local authorities to swiftly survey the impacted areas to gauge the extent of the damage and to expedite relief and compensation for qualifying farmers.
He emphasized that the hailstorm is not merely a loss of crops but a significant setback to the farmers’ dedication and aspirations. Hence, the relief process should be straightforward, transparent, and timely, minimizing the need for farmers to repeatedly visit government offices.
"This natural disaster represents a harsh blow to the diligence, dreams, and year-long efforts of our farmers. I visited the affected fields, inspected the ruined crops, and interacted with the farmers to grasp the real situation on the ground. I have instructed the administration to ensure immediate action, including surveys and compensation," stated Scindia.
He reaffirmed the government's unwavering commitment to farmers, echoing the promises made under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
Scindia highlighted the intent to deliver prompt and effective help to those impacted by this calamity.
On the same day, Chief Minister Yadav directed officials to evaluate crop losses resulting from unexpected rainfall and urged district administrations to exert all efforts to shield farmers from the adverse effects of unseasonal rains.
The unseasonal rains accompanied by hail have devastated crops in various regions of Madhya Pradesh, prompting Chief Minister Yadav to mandate district administrations statewide to carry out physical assessments to ensure compensation for affected farmers.
