UAE Diplomat Unveils Padel Courts at OP Jindal Global University

Sonipat (Haryana), Jan 8 (NationPress) In a remarkable initiative aimed at promoting health, well-being, and intercultural collaboration, Abdulnasser Alshaali, the UAE Ambassador to India, and Prof. (Dr) C. Raj Kumar, the Vice Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University, officially launched four high-quality padel courts at O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) today. The inauguration event highlighted the united commitment of the UAE and India to cultivate healthier communities and reinforce bilateral connections.
The four padel courts, each named after prominent UAE airlines—Air Arabia, Emirates, Etihad, and FlyDubai—represent the essential role of aviation in nurturing personal connections between the UAE and India.
This naming initiative, conceived collaboratively by Ambassador Alshaali and Prof. (Dr) Kumar, emphasizes the significant role UAE airlines play in bridging distances and creating opportunities. By connecting Indian students with educational and professional avenues abroad, UAE airlines contribute immensely to their global aspirations, fostering cultural exchanges, and strengthening the bond between the two nations.
During the event, Ambassador Alshaali remarked, “Padel is the UAE’s fastest-growing sport and has gained considerable interest in India in recent years. The launch of the state-of-the-art Air Arabia, Emirates, Etihad, and FlyDubai padel courts at JGU will not only present new opportunities for JGU students to engage in a vibrant and social sport but will also allow JGU to host international-level padel tournaments and training camps. The UAE takes pride in fostering the growth of padel in India and enhancing our collaboration with JGU.”
The inauguration of the padel courts emphasizes JGU’s dedication to comprehensive student development by incorporating physical fitness into its educational framework. This initiative also represents the deep-rooted partnership between the UAE and India, spanning sports, health, education, and cultural exchange.
“At JGU, we recognize the unifying power of sports and fitness in inspiring healthy lifestyles. The naming of these courts after UAE Airlines honors the connections that aviation fosters between our two nations. It serves as a reminder of the opportunities that arise when individuals are united, whether through sports, education, business, or cultural exchanges,” stated Prof. (Dr) C. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of JGU.
The inauguration event was attended by the leadership, faculty, and students of JGU, alongside representatives from Air Arabia, Emirates, Etihad, and FlyDubai.
