New Delhi, Aug 10 (NationPress) Senior Congress leader Udit Raj expressed skepticism over the recent disclosures by the Indian Army and Indian Air Force (IAF) chiefs regarding Operation Sindoor, questioning the timing of these revelations. He suggested that external influences may be urging them to make such statements following the emergence of the alleged 'vote theft' controversy.
Raj emphasized that any tactic could be employed to distract the public from the 'vote theft' issue, even if it involves 'inciting riots.'
His comments followed a day after Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi and Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, revealed new insights into the operation.
General Dwivedi indicated that in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that rattled the nation, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declared 'enough is enough' and permitted the Armed Forces a 'free hand' for decisive action. Air Chief Marshal Singh noted that during the operation, India successfully downed six Pakistani aircraft and targeted nine terror camps.
In reaction to these announcements, Udit Raj remarked to IANS, 'They only remembered this now that the 'vote theft' has come into focus. The Army and Air Force chiefs are making these statements now. But why? They should have disclosed this earlier. Both PM Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh should have brought this up in Parliament. Why didn’t they?'
He pointed out apparent contradictions in official narratives, saying, 'Captain Shiv Kumar indicated that one of our fighter jets was lost. Even CDS Chauhan admitted in Singapore that we lost fighter jets. There are inconsistencies in the Armed Forces’ statements, suggesting they are being pressured to make these declarations now that the vote stealing issue has surfaced.'
While clarifying he does not question the valour of the forces, Udit Raj stated, 'Our Armed Forces are exceptional. However, they are being instructed to release these statements due to the vote theft scandal. Perhaps they will orchestrate a major riot or incident now, as the public's focus has shifted to the vote theft case.'
He further contended that such critical revelations should have been made during the operation itself.
'Had they communicated this at the time, it would have bolstered our confidence, and we could have garnered substantial international support. Trump was pivotal in the ceasefire, and many nations sided with Pakistan. So why were these announcements not made earlier? If they had, our global standing would have been markedly different,' Raj added.
