Jaunpur (Uttar Pradesh), June 23 (NationPress) The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), heralded as a flagship initiative of the Modi administration, has emerged as a beacon of hope for millions of impoverished families lacking their own homes. This scheme has provided permanent housing to the underprivileged across the nation.
In the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, Rajkumari and her family have become beneficiaries of this transformative program. They have transitioned into their own pucca house and consistently express their gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Rajkumari, the spouse of Rajendra Prasad from Rajgarh Colony, who previously lived below the poverty line, shared that her family endured years in a dilapidated kutcha house.
She learned about the PMAY scheme through local newspapers and conversations with villagers. After gathering the necessary information, she successfully applied for assistance and received financial support of Rs 2.5 lakh.
With this funding, she was able to construct a concrete home, realizing her family’s aspirations for a stable residence. Now, they enjoy a permanent roof over their heads.
Rajkumari stated to IANS that they now have a pucca house, receive free rations, and have obtained Ayushman Bharat cards.
“We are very happy. PM Modi is doing remarkable work for the poor, and we are incredibly thankful,” she remarked.
Rajendra Prasad, her husband, echoed her sentiments, highlighting that PM Modi is a true leader who supports the less fortunate.
“We received the benefits of the housing scheme in the name of my wife, leading to our own concrete home. We are immensely grateful to him,” he expressed.
It’s important to note that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, initiated in 2015, strives to provide affordable housing for all. Official figures reveal that over 2.67 lakh houses have been sanctioned for women beneficiaries, while transgenders have also received adequate support for their housing needs.
Recently, the Ministry of Urban Affairs authorized the construction of an additional 3.53 lakh houses under PMAY-Urban 2.0, benefitting states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh.
