Bhopal/Hyderabad, Dec 11 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav remarked on Thursday that the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister and recipient of the Bharat Ratna, devoted his life to serving the nation.
During the launch of a 15-day ‘Atal Jyoti Sandesh Yatra’ in Andhra Pradesh, part of the celebrations for Vajpayee's centenary, Yadav described the former Prime Minister as a towering figure, akin to the Himalayas, who commanded great respect both nationally and internationally.
“Vajpayee ji’s language, speeches, and character were as pure as the sacred waters of the Ganga and Yamuna,” Yadav stated. He also inaugurated a statue of Vajpayee in Dharmavaram, located in the Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh.
Born on December 25, 1923, in a middle-class family in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Vajpayee gained global recognition for his wisdom, leadership, and eloquence.
He shared a strong rapport with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who served as NDA President during Vajpayee’s time as Prime Minister.
Yadav noted that Vajpayee served as Prime Minister for three successive terms, conducted nuclear tests at Pokhran, and effectively responded to Pakistan during the Kargil War.
He also initiated the groundbreaking Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, which transformed rural connectivity.
While addressing attendees, Yadav highlighted the strong connection between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naidu, asserting that under Naidu’s leadership, Andhra Pradesh is advancing rapidly across various sectors.
Yadav emphasized that the NDA has entrusted Madhya Pradesh to a descendant of Lord Krishna and acknowledged Naidu’s efforts in fostering effective leadership in Andhra Pradesh.
“This embodies the true essence of ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’. Observing the enthusiasm among the local populace, it seems as if Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are like two brothers reunited,” Yadav remarked.
Additionally, he commended Andhra Pradesh party President T.V.N. Madhav for organizing the Atal Jyoti Sandesh Yatra, noting that the initiative will enlighten the state’s residents about the ideals and life of the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
