Valmiki Nagar, often dubbed the 'Kashmir of Bihar', is celebrated for its spiritual and natural splendor, linked to Maharishi Valmiki, the legendary author of the Ramayana.

The last celebrations took place in 2014 and 2016, but due to various factors, including the Covid-19 pandemic, the event was suspended. Now, after nearly a decade, the spectacular festival is making its comeback.

The festival coincides with International Women's Day (March 8), lending an added significance to the occasion. CM Nitish Kumar has consistently praised the picturesque beauty of Valmiki Nagar, making it one of his preferred spots alongside Rajgir, Rai remarked.

After nearly a decade, the Valmiki Mahotsav will serve as a grand platform for Bihar's heritage and art.

The event aims to showcase Valmiki Nagar's potential as a prominent tourist destination.

With the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections on the horizon, this event also serves as an opportunity for political outreach.
