Chennai, Oct 13 (NationPress) Ravi Kumar, the MP and general secretary of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), has sharply criticized actor-politician Vijay, asserting that the founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is merely performing a political role scripted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
This statement followed the Supreme Court's decision to initiate a CBI investigation into the tragic stampede in Karur, which resulted in 41 fatalities during a TVK election rally on September 27.
The apex court rejected Vijay’s request to suspend the Madras High Court order for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and designated the matter to the central agency.
In response to the ruling, Ravi Kumar expressed on X that “numerous individuals on social media are beginning to assert that Vijay has completely fallen into the BJP's clutches.”
He stated, “We have long maintained that Vijay established his political party under the influence of the BJP. He is a political performer reciting a script crafted by the BJP.”
The VCK leader accused the BJP of intending to fragment the minority votes that typically support the DMK, claiming, “The BJP plans to divert approximately 14 percent of minority votes from the DMK, hindering its chance to achieve a majority, and subsequently take control of Tamil Nadu, following the pattern seen in Maharashtra. Vijay is being positioned as the face of this strategy,” he asserted.
According to Ravi Kumar, Vijay's political maneuvers—such as labeling the BJP as an ideological adversary while claiming the DMK has covert connections with it, and positioning himself as aligned with the Congress—are designed to mislead minority voters.
“These are meticulously planned tactics aimed at sowing confusion among minority groups,” he remarked.
He further suggested that should Vijay be officially integrated into the BJP, these strategies would become ineffective.
“Thus, the BJP intends to keep him at a distance, ensuring his support without fully incorporating him,” Ravi Kumar stated.
In conclusion, the MP asserted, “Vijay is not an autonomous political figure but rather an actor delivering the BJP’s lines in their political drama. It is crucial for the public to recognize this reality.”
