New Delhi, June 24 (NationPress) In light of the escalating Iran-Israel conflict, esteemed Muslim cleric Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi has commended the Indian government's prompt action in evacuating its citizens from the conflict-ridden area under ‘Operation Sindhu’.
In an interview with IANS from Bareilly, Razvi celebrated the initiative, referring to it as a “victory for India” and a testament to the government's dedication to safeguarding its citizens.
“Numerous Indian students and others found themselves stranded in Iran for educational pursuits or pilgrimage. Their families were understandably anxious. The successful evacuation has provided significant relief to parents and relatives. We must commend the Indian government for its timely response,” Razvi remarked.
In a separate, strongly articulated statement, Maulana Razvi criticized actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh for casting Pakistani actors, including Hania Amir, in his forthcoming film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’.
He questioned the logic behind selecting Pakistani talent, especially given the existing tensions with Pakistan.
“Why couldn’t Diljit opt for Indian actors? Why extend opportunities to individuals from a nation known for harboring terrorists and inflicting considerable suffering on India?” Razvi questioned, referencing the tragic loss of 26 Indian civilians in a terror attack in Pahalgam orchestrated by Pakistan-based terror organizations.
“This film conveys the wrong message to Indian society,” he added.
Razvi further recalled India’s robust response through ‘Operation Sindoor’, which targeted terrorist infrastructure deep within Pakistan.
Calling for a boycott of ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, Razvi urged the Indian government to prohibit the film and pursue legal action against Diljit Dosanjh and the participating actors.
“This transcends mere cinema; it’s about national pride and honoring our martyrs,” he asserted.
‘Sardaar Ji 3’ is slated for release on June 27 and features the widely discussed Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, whose casting has faced backlash on social media due to the recent Pahalgam tragedy and Operation Sindoor.
It is worth noting that India had instituted a ban on Pakistani actors and content across various platforms, including OTT services and social media, in light of national security concerns during Operation Sindoor.
