Vijay's Vision for Tamil Nadu: AI Governance and Welfare Reform Targeting CM Stalin
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Kanyakumari, April 12 (NationPress) The president of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), Vijay, presented an ambitious governance plan on Sunday while delivering pointed criticisms at Chief Minister M. K. Stalin during an election rally in the Kanyakumari district.
Speaking to attendees in Mahadhanapuram, Vijay vowed to ensure a corruption-free implementation of welfare initiatives, claiming that citizens would receive benefits without the need for applications or bribes.
He revealed plans to issue a “priority card” to every family in Tamil Nadu, akin to the Aadhaar system, which would include detailed household information. This innovation, he asserted, would facilitate seamless delivery of welfare benefits from the moment of birth.
“No one should face struggles or pay bribes to claim what is theirs by right. Government assistance will come directly to your home,” Vijay stated.
He stressed that this initiative would be driven by artificial intelligence, ensuring both efficiency and transparency.
In a critique of Stalin, he claimed his proposals are not just “tales,” but scientifically feasible plans underpinned by technology. Vijay alleged that pervasive corruption is entrenched in the current system, indicating that bribes taken at the administrative level often reach the level of ministers.
“Our top priority will be to eradicate corruption,” he asserted, adding that a TVK-led administration would launch a comprehensive “Tamil Nadu Government Service Scheme” within six months of attaining power.
A standout feature of his vision is the introduction of a consolidated digital platform dubbed the “Vetri Tamil Nadu Super App,” through which all government services would be readily available. He pledged that any delays in service provision would result in immediate accountability for responsible officials.
Vijay aimed to involve citizens as proactive stakeholders by proposing a participatory governance model. He announced a dedicated government portal where individuals could share ideas, track public finances, and directly petition the Assembly. Petitions with support from 10,000 individuals would receive official replies, while those with backing from one million would be considered for legislative discussion.
He also committed to designating one full day in Assembly sessions to address public petitions. Addressing economic issues, Vijay criticized the state’s escalating debt, which he claimed had surpassed Rs 10.05 lakh crore.
He accused the current administration of excessive borrowing and promised to enhance revenue while rationalizing expenditures without imposing new taxes.
In conclusion, Vijay declared that Tamil Nadu would evolve into India’s artificial intelligence and digital capital, with a specialized AI ministry under a TVK government.
