While addressing the crowd, Vijay emphasized that the empowerment, safety, and financial security of women will be among the leading priorities for his party if they gain power in Tamil Nadu. He introduced numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for women and fortifying family welfare throughout the state.
As part of his proposed measures, Vijay declared the establishment of a dedicated government department focused on women, children, and senior citizens. This department will operate under his direct oversight to guarantee the effective and transparent implementation of welfare programs.
In a significant financial aid proposal, Vijay pledged that women aged 60 and older would receive monthly assistance of Rs 2,500. However, he clarified that women employed in government positions would not qualify for this benefit.
The TVK leader also introduced the “Annapoorna Super Six” scheme, where families will be granted six free LPG cylinders annually. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial strain on households and support women who manage family cooking.
Additionally, Vijay announced that mothers or guardians of students from Class 1 to Class 12 would be eligible for an annual scholarship of Rs 15,000. The goal of this program is to prevent school dropouts and ensure children complete their education.
Focusing on women’s mobility and safety, Vijay stated that under the “Vetri Yatra” initiative, women will be permitted to travel free on all government buses throughout Tamil Nadu. To boost women’s security, he proposed the creation of a special task force called the “Rani Velu Nachiyar Sena.”
According to him, approximately 500 teams will be established statewide to ensure women’s safety in public areas. Furthermore, he committed to offering 100% subsidy loans of up to Rs 5 lakh through self-help groups to empower women entrepreneurs and enhance their economic independence.
In another welfare proposal, Vijay unveiled the “Thai Maman Gold Ring Scheme,” under which newborns in Tamil Nadu will receive gold rings, symbolizing support for families and the health of infants.
Vijay stated that these initiatives reflect his party’s dedication to fostering a society in which women are safe, economically empowered, and afforded equal opportunities.
