Chennai, March 2 (NationPress) The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), a political entity established by Tamil superstar Vijay, has issued a stern notice to both the public and its members about individuals falsely claiming to represent the party during media discussions.

TVK's General Secretary N Anand emphasized that only the party's officially appointed spokespersons, designated by President Vijay, are authorized to communicate its viewpoints, urging the public to disregard comments made by those not formally recognized by the party.

Anand remarked that TVK has been experiencing rapid growth, driven by robust public support, and has been actively engaged in several initiatives. These include enrolling new members, awarding certificates of appreciation and incentives to students, and organizing events such as the Vettri Kolgai Thiruvizha and anniversary celebrations.

He accused rival political factions, unable to accept TVK's rising popularity, of attempting to deceive the public by presenting their affiliates as representatives of TVK in media debates. This misrepresentation, he asserted, has been vehemently condemned by the party.

“The opinions and statements made by individuals who are not officially sanctioned by TVK’s President or the Headquarters Secretariat do not represent the party’s official stance,” Anand stated.

He urged TVK members and the people of Tamil Nadu to remain vigilant and not be misled by unauthorized remarks. Vijay officially inaugurated Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam on February 2, 2024, positioning it as a movement against corruption and divisive politics.

Though he opted not to run in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he declared that TVK will participate in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

On August 22, 2024, Vijay revealed the party’s flag and anthem at its headquarters in Panaiyur, Chennai. This was followed by TVK’s inaugural conference on October 27, 2024, in Vikravandi, Villupuram district, which reportedly attracted around three lakh attendees.

The significant turnout caused considerable traffic congestion in Vikravandi and Mundiyampakkam, prompting authorities to reroute vehicles on the Chennai-Tiruchi National Highway.

During the conference, Vijay sharply criticized both the DMK and the BJP, labeling the BJP as his ideological opponent and the DMK as his political rival.

He accused the DMK of being a family-oriented party that exploits the “Dravidian” identity for personal gain, while denouncing the BJP for its divisive politics.

Following his statements, the DMK accused Vijay of being the “C team” of the BJP, suggesting that he was indirectly supporting the saffron party.

Vijay’s political influence has been on the rise since his fan club, the All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (AITVMI), won 115 out of 169 seats it contested in the 2021 Tamil Nadu local body elections.

In comparison, Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) and Seeman’s Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) failed to secure any seats, further strengthening Vijay’s position in Tamil Nadu’s political arena.

Vijay has also made it clear that TVK will collaborate only with parties that recognize his leadership.
