Viral Video Shows Indian Army Calling Founder Assaulting Student

Visakhapatnam, December 6 (NationPress) A disturbing video featuring the founder of the private coaching institute Indian Army Calling located in Andhra Pradesh has gone viral on social media, showing the founder physically assaulting a student. This incident has prompted State Minister Nara Lokesh to call for police action.

The footage depicts a man, recognized as Basava Venkata Ramana, striking a student with a belt, while the student is heard in distress. Other students are visible in the background, kneeling on the ground.

This video has incited widespread outrage among netizens, who are demanding swift action against the individual responsible for the punishment.

In response to a post on X, Human Resources Minister Nara Lokesh stated, “Regardless of the context, such aggressive behavior is unacceptable.”

Lokesh, who is the son of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, further mentioned that both the state and Srikakulam district police will initiate appropriate measures against the involved parties.

The state police acknowledged Lokesh’s statement, indicating, “The viral video shows an incident that took place in December 2023, where Basava Venkata Ramana, residing in Srimukhalingam, Jalumuru, Srikakulam District, is seen beating students at Indian Army Calling (IAC), a private coaching institute.”

They added, “The student depicted in the video has been identified, and a team has been dispatched to gather his statement. A case will be registered subsequently.”

A concerned netizen who alerted Lokesh to this incident claimed that the founder and president of Indian Army Calling, Basava Ramana, is endangering the lives of numerous students. They alleged that Ramana extorted between Rs 5 to Rs 10 lakh from students with promises of jobs in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Additionally, the opposition party YSR Congress has accused Basava Ramana of being connected to Union Minister Rammohan Naidu. They stated, “Basava Ramana has been exposed for operating a fraudulent recruitment center, 'Indian Army Calling,' where he promises jobs in the Army, Navy, and Air Force while extorting Rs 5-10 lakh from each individual. He has also reportedly installed hidden cameras in women’s areas, using the footage for blackmail and harassment with his accomplices.”

Furthermore, the YSR Congress emphasized that when four young men attempted to bring his actions to light, they were allegedly abducted and tortured. By leveraging political affiliations with local MLA Gundu Shankar, Ramana is accused of extorting businesses and bars through intimidation. This alarming situation underscores the coalition government’s inability to address such criminals, thereby compromising public safety.
