New Delhi, April 4 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday praised the approval of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, describing it as a significant milestone in the fight against years of injustice and corruption in the management of Waqf assets.
The day following the strong arguments made by Amit Shah and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju in the Lok Sabha, the Leader of Rajya Sabha and Union Minister J.P. Nadda led a vigorous discussion in the Rajya Sabha, criticizing the Opposition.
The Rajya Sabha endorsed the Bill during the early hours of Friday with a margin of 128 votes to 95, after a heated debate. This approval came just one day after the Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha after nearly 12 hours of deliberation.
On social media platform X, Amit Shah remarked, "Today is a landmark day, as the Parliament has sanctioned the 'Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025', which ends the prolonged era of injustice and corruption, paving the way for a new era of justice and equality."
