Key Takeaways
Bhopal, April 7 (NationPress) As part of a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing social harmony and community engagement, the Madhya Pradesh government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, has unveiled a comprehensive week-long program scheduled from April 8 to April 14 to celebrate the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar.
The announcement was made by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav during a gathering of the Council of Ministers, where he emphasized a decentralized approach for implementation that reaches beyond just district headquarters, extending down to the block level.
The main event will take place in Bhind, with designated ministers responsible for the planning and oversight of district-specific activities, as outlined in a press release from the state government on Tuesday.
This initiative is framed not just as a commemorative event but as a vital part of a broader governance strategy, with local administrations encouraged to develop programs that resonate with their communities.
Preparations for the event are currently in progress, with detailed schedules for district and block-level activities anticipated to be finalized soon.
Notably, the Madhya Pradesh government is also establishing an ‘Ambedkar Dham’, which will feature a memorial for B. R. Ambedkar in Gwalior.
The project has received funding of Rs 20 crore (in two phases).
The planned amenities at Ambedkar Dham include a digital library, a museum, an auditorium, and a conference hall, along with a large library, as previously stated by the Madhya Pradesh government.
This will be the second memorial for Ambedkar in Madhya Pradesh, with the first located at his birthplace, Mhow, in Indore.
A grand memorial has already been established in Mhow, which hosts an annual Ambedkar Kumbh celebration on his birth anniversary.
Additionally, the government has laid out a long-term social agenda with statewide programs promoting social harmony, set to run until March 31, 2027, coinciding with the anniversary year of Sant Ravidas.
These consecutive announcements reflect the state government’s commitment to intertwining commemorative activities with ongoing messages of inclusion and harmony.
