Vashistha Narain Singh: Workers Will Miss Nitish Kumar After His Rajya Sabha Nomination
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, March 7 (NationPress) Following Nitish Kumar's nomination for the Rajya Sabha, Vashistha Narain Singh, the former president of Janata Dal (United) in Bihar, expressed that party members across Bihar will undoubtedly feel the absence of the seasoned leader.
In a conversation with IANS, Singh remarked that political landscapes sometimes necessitate significant choices from leaders, and the party must honor such decisions.
“There are moments when circumstances dictate a leader's action, and that decision takes precedence. Nitish Kumar has opted to run for the Rajya Sabha, and both the party and its leaders will stand behind him. Nevertheless, our party workers will indeed miss him,” Singh stated.
In response to Kumar's announcement, demonstrations erupted among party members in Patna.
Reports indicate that several workers vandalized furniture at the Janata Dal (United) office, attributing the unrest to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
When questioned about whether there was any obligation behind Nitish Kumar's move to the Rajya Sabha, Singh dismissed the notion.
“There was no obligation. His decision to transition to the Rajya Sabha should be viewed as a respectful farewell. There are no conditions in this situation,” he clarified.
On the topic of Nishant Kumar's potential entry into politics, Singh noted that the young leader possesses substantial potential and could motivate Bihar's youth.
“Nishant is a promising young leader with significant capabilities. Should he join our party and take on a role, it will inspire others and generate excitement among the youth,” Singh remarked.
Insiders suggest that Nishant Kumar might officially join Janata Dal (United) on Sunday, potentially assuming a senior position in the party and forthcoming government.
On Saturday, Nishant Kumar engaged in several discussions with party officials.
He initially convened with MLAs and MLCs at the residence of Sanjay Kumar Jha, the JDU's working president.
Later, he interacted with the party's district presidents at the same location.
During these meetings, Nishant Kumar personally greeted the district presidents, gathered insights on the party's organizational status, and participated in a photo opportunity with them.
Furthermore, party leaders have hinted that Nishant Kumar is likely to initiate a statewide outreach initiative in Bihar aimed at fortifying the party's presence and engaging with the populace.
